The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened on 15 October 2026 in Guangzhou. According to CCTV News, the first phase is themed on advanced manufacturing and covers 520,000 square metres across 5 sectors and 19 exhibition zones: electronics and home appliances, industrial manufacturing, lighting and electrical, hardware and tools, and vehicles and two-wheelers.
More than 12,000 companies are exhibiting in phase one. Over 6,000 of them are high-tech enterprises, specialised 'little giant' firms or national manufacturing single-champion companies. The organisers set up 17 zones for emerging industries, including service robots, drones and display technology, with a focus on new energy, smart manufacturing and embodied AI.
On the opening day, about 86,000 overseas buyers from 208 countries and regions attended. Yicai reported from the floor that the robot hall was one of the busiest areas, and that one household cleaning robot sold more than 100 units on the first day.
For overseas buyers, phase one brings a large share of China's electronics, appliance, lighting, tools and machinery suppliers under one roof, which makes it easier to compare factories, specifications and pricing side by side.
