China News reported from Dongfang, Hainan on 23 October 2026 on the Mingyang Group Dongfang new energy high-end equipment base. Built with a total investment of about 2 billion yuan, it is Hainan's first leading offshore wind high-end equipment manufacturer.
Base general manager Wei Lei said the company's self-developed MySE292 offshore blade, 143 meters long with a swept area equal to more than nine football fields, is now in batch production. The turbines use semi-direct-drive technology customized for Chinese sea conditions, with typhoon resistance, large safety margins and easier transport and installation.
Since starting production at the end of 2022, the base has supplied projects in Yangjiang, Guangdong and Lingao, Hainan. This year it delivered projects for Longyuan Power, CNOOC and Datang, and will complete delivery of three more projects by year end.
Wei said Hainan Free Trade Port policies, including zero tariffs on imported production equipment and 15% corporate and personal income tax rates, have lowered costs. The company plans an export-oriented base in Dongfang to become Hainan's largest turbine and blade production base, will later develop offshore engineering equipment, and has already won orders from Vietnam.
