What this product is

A Wi-Fi energy plug is a smart-home product with a boring, important core: the relay, the metering chip, and the firmware update path. The shell is easy. The sourcing risk is the plug standard for the destination country, the app, and what the factory will still support in a year. Many Shenzhen platforms already offer this as a white-label unit: your logo, their app or a named app, their PCB. That can be a sensible first order if you accept the app you are given. Building your own app is a software project, not a packaging change. The price band is indicative for a common plug platform before freight, certification, and any app work. Name the country. A EU plug and a US plug are not the same tool.

What to specify

Plug: Name the standard: US, EU, UK, AU, or another. Do not say universal
Load: Write the amps you will print. Match them to the sample
Radio: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on most platforms. Ask about the app
Meter: Energy readout in the app. Check it against a known load
Firmware: Ask who can update it after you sell the unit

Customization and private label

Logo and a printed manual are common. The plug face must match the country. A private app is separate.
