Scan Global Logistics published a Golden Week 2026 planning reminder on 28 August 2026 that remains the operative holiday map for buyers this week. In mainland China, Mid-Autumn Festival runs 25-27 September 2026, followed by National Day from 1-7 October. ScanGL notes that with only three working days between the two holidays, factories, suppliers, and logistics operations may close or run at reduced capacity for much of the combined period, while pre-holiday forward shipping tightens capacity and post-holiday backlog can take time to clear.
Regional calendars differ. Hong Kong: day following Mid-Autumn on 26 September, National Day on 1 October, and the day following Chung Yeung on 19 October. Taiwan: Mid-Autumn and Teachers’ Day 25-28 September, Double Tenth 9-11 October, and Taiwan Retrocession Day 24-26 October. Buyers moving cargo across multiple Greater China origins should not assume one shutdown window.
ScanGL’s three actions: book shipments at least 14 days before expected departure; allow extra time for cargo clearance and delivery; confirm suppliers’ production and closure schedules. China teams will have limited holiday coverage for critical requests. For importers with open China-origin POs, the practical step before 25 September is written confirmation of cargo-ready date, inspection timing, and the next available sailing or flight after any blank.
