On 5 October 2026, Hebei Daily reported (republished by People's Daily Online) that Huanghua Port's first China-Europe freight train running directly to Duisburg in Germany has departed. It opens a direct overland route from Huanghua to one of Europe's main logistics hubs and adds a new trunk line to the port's sea-rail network.
The train carried 118 standard containers, mostly auto parts. It left from Track Yard III of Bohai East Station on the Handan-Huanghua Railway, transited via Shijiazhuang International Dry Port, and runs about 10,719 km to Duisburg in around 20 days. Part of the cargo came from Ningbo Port by sea and was transferred to rail at Huanghua.
The operator, Cangzhou Ganghai Logistics, combines lower cost sea freight with faster rail, gathering cargo from Shanghai, Ningbo and Nansha ports. According to its business supervisor Yang Xuerong, goods arriving by sea at Huanghua can be made up into westbound trains at Bohai East Station without long road transfers, saving nearly 20 days compared with traditional sea freight to Europe.
Huanghua Port now runs 4 stable international rail routes, including the new Duisburg service, covering the European hinterland and the five Central Asian countries.
