On 14 October 2026, China News Service reported from Ningbo that Zhejiang Seaport Group said Ningbo-Zhoushan Port completed more than 1.6 million TEU of rail-sea intermodal volume in the first three quarters of 2026, up 8.5% year on year. September volume exceeded 200,000 TEU and set a new monthly record for the port.
Yuan Feng of Zhejiang Seaport Logistics Group said new products helped lift volume: a Middle East rail-sea train from Yiwu, a domestic water-rail 'one-document' channel, a Yiwu-to-Qinzhou Port domestic train, and an Aksu export train in the Northwest that uses a Xinjiang 'one box to the end' export model.
Infrastructure also mattered. After capacity expansion at the Chuanshan rail port station, station master Gao Feng said September rail-sea work at Chuanshan exceeded 100,000 TEU, up 47.6% year on year and a monthly high for that station. For buyers, the print is a practical inland-to-ocean routing update for Zhejiang and inland China cargo feeding Ningbo-Zhoushan.
