China's textile and apparel exports reached US$232.95 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, up 5.1% year on year, according to figures China News Service obtained from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles (CCCT) on 14 October.
September was especially strong. Exports rose 21.5% year on year to US$29.66 billion, close to US$30 billion and the highest September figure on record. Both product groups grew: textile exports (yarn, fabric and made-ups) rose 19% to US$14.24 billion, and garment exports rose 24% to US$15.42 billion. The chamber attributed the jump to recovering overseas demand and a low base in the same month last year.
For January–September, textile exports totalled US$112.26 billion (+5.4%) and garment exports US$120.69 billion (+4.8%). The strong September lifted cumulative growth for the year to 5.1%.
The chamber advised textile and apparel companies to broaden their market mix, keep upgrading, and raise product value and brand competitiveness. For overseas buyers, the figures show China's textile supply chain, from fibre and fabric through to finished garments, is running at high volume going into the fourth quarter.
