China News Service reported from Taizhou on 21 October 2026 that the 4th Taizhou International Eyewear Expo and China (Taizhou) Eyewear E-commerce Selection Fair was held from 18 to 20 October in Duqiao Town, Linhai City, Zhejiang Province. The event drew more than 10,000 visitors from 29 countries and regions as well as from eyewear production areas across China. According to the organizer, the number of overseas buyers doubled year on year.
During the show, the Taizhou Eyewear Chamber of Commerce signed a cooperation agreement with European and American business chambers, and leading Chinese eyewear e-commerce companies also signed cooperation agreements. Data cited in the report show Taizhou's eyewear exports grew by about 18% year on year in January to July 2026, with buyers increasingly discussing new materials, new processes, supply chain co-building and local assembly.
Technology was a major theme. One local exhibitor said 70% of its products have switched to bio-based and recycled materials, making frames lighter and winning orders from European and American partners. The expo set up a dedicated smart glasses zone for the first time, featuring products such as AR display glasses and AI vision-assist glasses for visually impaired users.
Duqiao's strength is its complete supply chain. Within a 20 km radius of the exhibition hall there are more than 800 full-chain eyewear factories, a model the report says lowers trust costs and shortens communication cycles for cross-border buyers. On-site services included overseas buyer matchmaking, fast intellectual property protection and instant departure tax refunds.
Duqiao has more than 1,000 eyewear and supporting companies, an industry worth nearly 7 billion yuan, more than 1,500 own brands and over 800 patents, with products sold to more than 60 countries and regions. Across Taizhou, more than 1,800 eyewear and supporting companies generate full-chain output of over 15 billion yuan.
