China Economic Net reported on 28 October 2026 (citing Economic Information Daily) that the State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of China) has approved and published the national standard Basic Requirements for Smart Freight Hubs. It is China's first national standard in the smart freight-hub field and will take effect on 1 April 2027.
General rules cover site layout, facility and equipment configuration, advanced technology use and cybersecurity, with differentiated functional requirements by hub type. Information-platform rules address hardware, network transmission, data storage and computing resources, and encourage AI services such as agent orchestration, model training and inference, and evaluation.
Smart facility rules set functions for intelligent gates, warehouses, yards and docks, plus smart security screening, storage and handling equipment. Smart operations and management cover production scheduling, vehicle management, sorting and warehousing, as well as office, security, equipment, environment, energy and emergency management. Officials said the standard will guide smart upgrades, help clear multimodal bottlenecks and support lower social logistics costs.
