China News reported from Urumqi on 26 October 2026 (dateline 24 October) that at 17:00 on 23 October a China-Europe train loaded with machinery and daily goods left Khorgos rail port for Malaszewicze, Poland. Through that day, Alashankou and Khorgos together had cleared 15,052 China-Europe (Central Asia) trains this year and moved 30.58 million tonnes of cross-border freight, keeping border rail volumes high.
China State Railway Group said it has deepened domestic and international coordination, advanced digital and smart China-Europe rail operations, and kept supply chains moving. Cumulative China-Europe trains have surpassed 140,000, with cargo value above USD 560 billion. Xinjiang rail raised maximum train length from 50 to 55 wagons and payload from 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes, a capacity gain of about 10%, and runs consolidation at Khorgos for export customers.
Working with customs, the ports expanded rail fast-clearance and the China Railway Logistics 95306 digital port system. At Khorgos, import confirmation and ticket translation can start before wagons arrive so gauge change, marshaling, inspection and release overlap; average inbound gauge-change time is about 2 hours and some clearance finishes in under 30 minutes. Alashankou customs uses a port-plus-destination joint supervision model and non-intrusive checks that can cut train boarding inspection to as little as 10 minutes. Alashankou now runs 130 train routes to 21 countries; Khorgos runs 91 routes to 18 countries and 46 cities and regions.
