China News reported from Guangzhou on 25 October 2026 that Phase 2 of the 140th Canton Fair, themed Quality Home Life, is underway with about 11,000 export exhibitors. In the daily-use ceramics zone, makers from Chaozhou, Dehua, Zibo and other clusters showed new designs and drew overseas buyers for talks.
The report says China is a major global ceramics exporter on the back of a full supply chain, mature craft and cost strength, and that leading exporters are moving from price competition alone toward design capability and market insight. Chaozhou porcelain is noted for varied styles and small-batch custom work for hotel tableware. At Chaozhou Haiou Ceramics, English, French and Mediterranean tableware were displayed by style. Booth lead Zhang Zanrong said about 80% of items on the booth are new, developed from past export experience plus AI and big-data analysis, and that the company is treating the Middle East as a blue-ocean market for mid-to-high-end tableware, with orders already booked from that region at this fair.
Jiangsu Gaochun Ceramics showed bone china and stoneware aimed at overseas markets, with steady orders cited in the Middle East, Central Asia and Russia. Quanzhou Hongsheng Group displayed Santa and snowman biscuit jars and mugs for Christmas; staff said hand-painting is a strength and that orders have come from Brazil, Chile, Portugal, the UK, Germany and Italy. US wholesaler Zina Hocker, a regular Canton Fair visitor, said she likes Chinese daily-use ceramics, especially kiln-change glaze, for North American stores and is looking for new creative processes at this session.
