China News reported from Zhengzhou on 28 October 2026 that Henan's first Baltic-crossing China-Europe freight train departed that afternoon from the east operations area of Zhengzhou International Land Port.
At a product launch and cooperation signing the same day, Henan International Logistics Hub Construction & Operation Co. and Eurasia Interconnection Holdings (Beijing) Co. released the new corridor product Zhengzhou–Manzhouli–St. Petersburg–Rotterdam–Duisburg. The routing exits China at Manzhouli, completes broad-gauge transshipment at Zabaykalsk in Russia, runs by rail to the Port of St. Petersburg, then transfers to sea via Rotterdam before reaching Duisburg, Germany.
An Eurasia Interconnection Holdings deputy general manager said the line expands combinations of rail and sea so operators can match destination, delivery needs and corridor conditions more flexibly. A Henan International Logistics deputy general manager described the rail-sea model as unlocking St. Petersburg's rail-to-port hub role and moving Zhengzhou Land Port toward land-sea multimodal services. Zhengzhou International Land Port already covers 31 overseas direct stops and 10 entry/exit border crossings, serving more than 140 cities in 40 Eurasian countries, with cumulative China-Europe train departures past 20,000.
