On 1 November 2026 China News reported China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing figures showing national logistics industry revenue of RMB 11.1 trillion in the first three quarters, up 4.3% year on year. A parallel CCTV News piece the same day put social logistics totals at RMB 280.0 trillion, up 4.9% on a comparable-price basis.
CFLP said the social logistics cost-to-GDP ratio fell to 13.8%, 0.2 percentage points lower than a year earlier. Measured against Q1-Q3 GDP, that implies about RMB 210 billion of nationwide logistics cost savings. Average logistics prosperity index for the first three quarters was 50.3%; September's index was 51.5%, a fifth straight month in expansion, and the business-activity expectation index rose to 56.2%.
On rates, CFLP described logistics service prices as stabilizing at a low level then recovering mildly. September China export container composite index averaged 1887.6 points, up 2.8% from the prior month average, with most export container lanes rising. Express single-ticket revenue was up 3.5% year on year in September as competition shifted from price-only volume grabs toward quality and price together.
Network capacity continued to thicken. CCTV, citing CFLP, said China-Europe freight trains ran 16,000 trips in the first three quarters (+15% YoY), China-Central Asia trains 11,000 (+2%), and international air route cargo and mail volume rose 12.1% with 130 new international air-cargo routes. Pinglu Canal, opened in September, had already moved more than 1 million tonnes of cargo.
Demand mix tilted toward higher-value industrial and green logistics: industrial goods logistics rose 5.3% and contributed 78% of social logistics growth; power-battery production logistics rose 43.5%. Key logistics firms' revenue rose 6.6% while cost per RMB 100 of operating revenue eased, pointing to modest margin repair for providers that buyers still need to validate lane by lane.
