ZIM: ZX3 premium express opens Shanghai and Xiamen to Los Angeles in December

ZIM announced on 30 October that ZX3, a new premium expedited Transpacific service, will start in December 2026 on the rotation Xiamen-Shanghai-Los Angeles-Xiamen. Transit is 12 days Shanghai-LA and 15 days Xiamen-LA. With ZEX and ZX2, ZIM says it will offer seven weekly expedited departures from China and Vietnam to the US West Coast, with dedicated WBCT berth, yard and chassis pickup in Los Angeles and expedited rail to inland US hubs.

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services announced on 30 October 2026 the launch of ZX3, a new premium expedited service connecting Shanghai and Xiamen directly with Los Angeles, expanding its Transpacific expedited offering.

Operated exclusively by ZIM, ZX3 is scheduled to commence in December 2026 on the rotation Xiamen-Shanghai-Los Angeles-Xiamen. The carrier says transit is a direct 12 days from Shanghai to Los Angeles and 15 days from Xiamen to Los Angeles, adding a dedicated premium product for Xiamen and an enhanced Shanghai call.

Together with existing premium expedited services ZEX and ZX2, ZX3 is described as contributing to seven weekly departures from China and Vietnam to the US West Coast, giving shippers more schedule choice on that premium lane.

Operational features listed by ZIM include direct calls with berth on arrival in Shanghai and Xiamen; a dedicated berth at WBCT in Los Angeles with dedicated ZIM yard and pickup lanes; Monday Los Angeles arrival with expedited cargo discharged onto ZIM-dedicated chassis and immediate availability without appointment or queue; and expedited rail links to inland US destinations including New York, Chicago, Memphis, Dallas and Kansas City.

Pacific Business Unit EVP Hani Kalinski said ZX3 responds to evolving supply-chain needs by broadening market coverage and flexibility within ZIM's expedited network. Shippers should confirm first sailing dates, vessel capacity and commercial terms with ZIM or their forwarder before locking December bookings.
