Xinhua reported on 1 November 2026 that large numbers of China-made cars were staged at Lianyungang Port's Orient Harbour Affairs terminal in Jiangsu for loading onto an ocean ro-ro vessel bound for Mexico.
The same day, at the Orient terminal ro-ro berth, the ship was prepared to load 5,910 domestic vehicles for sea transport to Mexico. Xinhua said the Lianyungang-Mexico ro-ro service formally opened on 30 September 2021.
Since that opening, ro-ro volumes on the lane have continued to grow, giving Chinese auto exporters a richer set of channel choices for shipments into Mexico. The photo report documents vehicles queued at the quay and the ro-ro ship alongside the berth ahead of loading.
