DP World said on 2 November 2026 that its Shipping Solutions AMEA unit will expand China-Africa maritime connectivity with the China Africa Link, a new weekly service scheduled to start in late November 2026.
Published rotation is Shanghai (China), Ningbo (China), Nansha (China), Port Klang Westport (Malaysia), Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Maputo (Mozambique), Singapore, then back to Shanghai. DP World framed the string as extra choice between major Chinese export gateways and key East and Southern African markets.
Cargo examples cited include machinery, electronics, construction materials and automotive components from China, with African agricultural products, minerals and other commodities on the return. Ganesh Raj, Global COO of Marine Services at DP World, said customers need reliable connections and flexibility as trade patterns change.
The launch is positioned alongside DP World investments in Africa, including a stated USD 165 million Maputo container-terminal expansion and more than USD 500 million committed to modernising the Port of Dar es Salaam. Bookings should still be checked against vessel schedule, cutoffs and equipment once the first sailing window is confirmed.
