China News Service reported from Guangzhou on 25 October 2026 that Phase 2 of the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is under way, and that many Chinese companies are showing green, low-carbon and smart-manufacturing building materials that have drawn overseas buyer interest.
At Guangdong Gelulang Energy-Saving Technology, a buyer from Oman, Mahra Ali Aljabri, looked at an aluminum alloy shade structure. Chairman Fang Guiping said the product integrates photovoltaic modules on the roof for outdoor lighting and reserves interfaces for new-energy vehicle charging, matching green infrastructure and EV-related demand. The company sells shade products to more than 100 countries and regions, and at this fair buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe have held talks, with some already planning factory visits. First-time Canton Fair visitor Aljabri said she planned to buy a batch of shade products, citing solid workmanship and low-carbon smart features for the Middle East market.
According to China's State Administration for Market Regulation, cited in the report, by the end of June China had 5,725 certified green building-material enterprises, supporting nearly 1.3 trillion yuan in related revenue, up more than 10% year on year.
Sinoma Energy Conservation (Wuhan) showed high-end calcium silicate boards and other green wall materials. Deputy general manager Shao Ye of the engineering board marketing center said the company had reached intent orders with buyers from Russia and the United States in recent days, and that some buyers were discussing exclusive agency. Shao said the company has built West Africa's first calcium silicate board plant invested by a Chinese firm, in Nigeria, exports to South Korea, Russia, Italy, Spain and other countries, and saw overseas sales roughly double year on year in the first half of 2026.
At Liri Architecture Technology (Guangdong), a buyer from Uganda signed an on-site order of more than USD 20,000. Foreign trade manager Qiu Wen said overseas buyers value cost performance and differentiated products that stand out from local competition. Overseas sales in H1 2026 were about USD 20 million, up about 30%, and new buyers at this fair mainly came from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. A US buyer named Michael said Chinese green building products combine advanced technology and solid quality, and that Chinese suppliers stand out on delivery speed and customization.
